The heart behind KoKo Adora ♡
At the heart of KoKo Adora is Khloe, our “KoKo”, the little girl who inspired it all. You’ll find her modelling throughout many of the collections. What began with her love of fashion, creativity and dressing up became a dream our whole family fell in love with.
I’m Bernadette, but you can call me Berny, and together with Khloe, my husband and our other two children, KoKo Adora has grown as part of our family, with a whole lot of love, passion and heart.
KoKo Adora is not just our brand name; it’s a piece of our family story.
“KoKo” comes from my daughter Khloe, who we have called KoKo since she was little. And “Adora” was inspired by the sweetest season of motherhood. When Khloe was still learning to speak, we would cuddle and tell each other all the ways we loved one another, “I love you… I adore you…” and little KoKo would look up at me and say: “Adora, Mummy.”
In many ways, KoKo Adora has always meant a mother and daughter’s love wrapped into one little name.
Where our story began
As a little girl, Khloe, our “KoKo”, came across a treasured photograph of mum and nana wearing custom-made matching dresses on a special day overseas in 1993.
That photograph sparked something magical.
It wasn’t simply the beauty of the dresses that captured her heart, but the story it carried; family, tradition, love and a timeless generational memory.
Khloe has always adored dressing up. She spent her childhood dressing Barbies, sketching endless designs, styling outfits and proudly modelling creations. Fashion wasn’t simply something she admired; it became the language through which she expressed her imagination and creativity.
Her love for fashion, that treasured photograph and the love woven through generations of our family eventually came together and KoKo Adora was born in 2018.
Born within our family, inspired by our family, and created for other families to make their own memories too.
From one little dream…
What began as a heartfelt family idea grew far beyond anything we could have imagined.
Since 2018, KoKo Adora has won awards, appeared on runways, popped up in shopping centres around Australia, dressed celebrities and their children, appeared in publications including Woman’s Day, and grown to have stockists around the world.
And as Khloe grew, KoKo Adora grew with her.
Today our collections extend beyond the matching family fashion that started it all, into womenswear, kidswear, mother-and-daughter formal couture, kids formal couture, activewear and more, while family remains at the heart of everything we create.
Khloe has also grown alongside the business, from the little toddler modelling our clothes to a creative young girl developing her own ideas, designing, helping customers and learning what it means to turn imagination into something real.
As her mum, watching that journey has been one of the most special parts of KoKo Adora for me.
More than fashion ♡
KoKo Adora is our way of translating a family’s love through fashion and unity.
Every collection is designed with love, inspired by the women who came before us and created for the memories still waiting to be made.
Beyond the family legacy we are building, I want our children to grow up knowing that dreams are possible, that creativity has value, passion can become purpose, and even the smallest idea can grow into something extraordinary when you have the courage to pursue it.
Watching Khloe’s love for fashion and creativity evolve from those little childhood moments into the ideas and vision she has today has been one of my greatest honours as her mum. Being able to nurture that passion, encourage her imagination and give her a place where her ideas can come to life is incredibly special to me. KoKo Adora may have begun because of her, but as she grows, I know her creativity, passion and ideas will continue to shape its future and take KoKo Adora to all the places we once only dreamed it could go.
And perhaps that is the most beautiful part of our story, KoKo Adora is growing with KoKo. ♡
